Apple Watch Cover Crochet Pattern

Last weekend was special for our family. Our two youngest nieces had their quinceniera, and it was beautiful. For those who aren’t familiar with this term, it’s a Mexican tradition where a girl is presented to society at the age of 15, similar to a Sweet 16 party or a Debut. There is a mass for them at the church, then everyone heads to the hall for the remainder of the festivities. The evening begins with a mariachi band playing while dinner is served. https://youtu.be/I6fgsL_xQVE

The next part is the birthday girls being presented with gifts to symbolize their transition from childhood to womanhood. These include a tiara, a pair of high-heeled shoes, and la ultima muneca (the last doll). One of my nieces asked me to be her madrina (sponsor) for the gift that has become a new tradition. The gift is meant to symbolize the girls leaving behind their childhood for more adult pursuits, so we decided on an Apple watch. Well, everyone in the family knows that I crochet their gifts, so I just couldn’t resist giving her a gag gift first!

It’s a simple pattern and doesn’t take much time at all, and you probably have enough yarn in your stash to make a few of them. This would be great for a white elephant gift this Christmas! Also makes a great teacher gift.
