Finished ornament measures approximately 4” long (including tail fin)
BODY:
Rnd 1: Ch 2 (or magic circle), 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. Work in continuous rnds throughout.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc).
Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (18 sc).
Rnd 4: *Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (24 sc).
Rnd 5: *Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (30 sc).
Rnd 6: *Sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (36 sc).
Rnd 7: *Sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (42 sc).
Rnd 8: *Sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st,* repeat around (48 sc).
Rnds 9-18: Sc in each st.
Rnd 19: *Dec, sc,* 6 times, sc in next 30 sts (42 sc).
Rnd 20: Dec 6 times, sc in next 30 sts (36 sc).
Rnd 21: *Dec, sc in next 4 sts,* repeat 5 times (30 sc).
Rnd 22: *Dec, sc in next 3 sts,* repeat 5 times (24 sc). Stuff.
Rnd 23: *Dec 3 times, *sc in next 4 sts, dec,* 3 times (18 sc).
Rnd 24: *Dec, sc,* repeat 5 times (12 sc.
Rnd 25: Sc in each st. Stuff.
Rnd 26: *Dec, sc in next 2 sts,* repeat twice (9 sc).
Rnd 27: Sc in each st.
Rnd 28: *Dec, sc,* 3 times (6 sc). Finish stuffing. Do not fasten off.
TAIL FIN:
Row 1: Fold tail and sc through both sides (3 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, inc, sc, inc (5 sc).
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, tr in first st, dc in next st, sl st in next st, dc in next st, tr in last st, sl st in last st. Fasten off.
SIDE FINS (Make 2):
Row 1: With MC yarn, leaving 9” length for sewing, ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 ch (4 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 2 sts (3 sc).
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next st (2 sc).
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, dec over last 2 sts (1 sc). Fasten off.
Sew fins to side of body at Rnds 11-15.
HORN:
Rnd 1: With yellow yarn, ch 2 (or magic circle), 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. Work in continuous rnds throughout.
Rnd 2: Inc in first st, sc in next 2 sts (4 sc).
Rnd 3: Inc in first st, sc in next 3 sts (5 sc).
Rnds 4-6: Sc in each st. Join with sl st at end of Rnd 6. Fasten off leaving 9” length for sewing. Stuff and sew to top of head at Rnds 10-12.
ASSEMBLY:
With pink yarn, embroidery mouth at Rnd 4. Cut 12” length of ribbon and pull through Rnd 14 at center top of head. Glue on eyes at Rnds 3-4.
