If you’re looking for a fast and festive project to whip up this holiday season, let me introduce you to one of my new favorites: Santa Socks made on a 22-pin circular knitting machine! These knee-high socks are adorable, beginner-friendly, and perfect for gift giving or stocking your craft fair booth.
Whether you use a Sentro, Addi, or another 22-pin machine, this project works up in minutes and brings instant Christmas charm.
Why Santa Socks?
My dad loves getting new socks every year, and I wanted a pattern that felt classic Christmas—something nostalgic like those red-and-white Santa suits we all grew up seeing.
If you love the cozy handmade look, these are pure holiday joy.
What You’ll Need
One of the things I love most about this pattern is how minimal the supplies are. To make your Santa Sock, you’ll need:
A 22-pin circular knitting machine
Red and ivory worsted weight yarn
White Pipsqueak yarn (or other fuzzy yarn) for the beard and hat trim
Yarn needle
Scissors
Wiggle eyes that can be sewn on so they don’t fall off in the wash
1/2″ pink pompoms for the nose
That’s it! Nothing fancy—just the basics many of us already have in our stash.
How the Pattern Works
This pattern is built with simple tube knitting, color changes, and a quick fold-and-seam method to turn the tube into a classic sock shape. The fluffy white cuff mimics Santa’s iconic suit trim and beard and gives the whole piece that perfect finishing touch.
If you’ve never made socks on a knitting machine before, don’t worry. The construction is very forgiving and great for beginners. Once you make one pair, you’ll want to make a whole basket full!
Tips for Success
Here are a few things I learned while designing and testing the pattern:
Use smooth, non-splitty yarns. They crank better and give you cleaner stitches. You know your machine best; use yarn that it likes.
Take your time with the color change. A neat transition between red and ivory makes your socks look professionally made.
Batch crank! Make several red tubes at once so you can add cuffs and finishing later. It saves tons of time.
Why Makers Love 22-Pin Projects
Small machines like the 22-pin are perfect for quick holiday crafting. You get:
Fast results
Easy construction
Low yarn usage
Endless creative possibilities
These Santa Socks are just one of many things you can whip up with this handy little machine.

There’s something extra special about counting down to Christmas—especially when each day brings a tiny treasure. Advent calendars have taken on so many forms over the years, but my very favorite version is the Christmas Ornament Advent Calendar. It’s festive, it’s interactive, and it turns December into a month-long celebration of handmade joy.
Why an Ornament Advent Calendar?
Most advent calendars offer candies, toys, or little trinkets, but ornaments feel meaningful. They become part of your holiday décor, your family traditions, and your memories. Each ornament you crochet becomes a tiny story hanging on your tree.
A New Ornament Every Day
One of the best parts is the daily excitement—revealing a new mini treasure to crochet. It could be:
A cute crocheted animal
A classic winter icon like a snowflake or mitten
A silly character that makes everyone laugh
A colorful bauble or tiny wreath
As the days pass, your tree slowly fills with color, personality, and charm.
Families love advent-style countdowns, but an ornament calendar is especially magical for:
✨ Kids — They adore the surprise and love helping decorate the tree. ✨ Crocheters & crafters — You can design your own set or complete a pattern collection day by day. ✨ Gift-givers — Handmade ornaments make beautiful keepsakes, whether you give the whole calendar or just a few favorites.
Handmade Makes It Extra Special
Each free pattern has its own textures, stitches, and personality—something you simply can’t get from store-bought décor. The tiny details, soft yarn, and whimsy bring a warm, cozy feeling to your space.
These little makes are perfect for using up scrap yarn, experimenting with new shapes, or stitching with friends throughout December.
Start a Tradition That Grows Every Year
A Christmas Ornament Advent Calendar isn’t just décor—it’s a ritual, a memory maker, and a joyful way to slow down and savor the season. Whether you’re creating your own set or curating a handmade collection, you’re building something your family will look forward to year after year.
