Easter is the perfect time to get busy crocheting, and what better way to celebrate than with a handmade Easter Bunny? Whether you’re looking for a charming gift, festive decor, or just a fun project to enjoy, crocheting your own Easter Bunny is a delightful choice.

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn:

100 yards MC

5 yards CC

Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook

Yarn needle

7” zipper

20-mm safety eye

½” pink pompom for nose

2-3” white pompom for tail

Buckle and strap set with polyester webbing (https://amzn.to/4774ZYe)

Gauge: 7 sc = 2”, 8 rows = 2”

Bunny measures 11.5” tall by 6” wide. Bag with strap measures 20-30” (depending on length of strap).

DIRECTIONS:

BUNNY: (Make 2)

Row 1: With MC, ch 19, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 17 ch (18 sc).

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, inc in first st, sc in next 16 sts, inc in last st (20 sc).

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc across remaining sts (19 sc).

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in 17 sts, dec (18 sc).

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in 16 sts, dec (17 sc).

Rows 8-10: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 11: Ch 1, turn, sc in 15 sts, dec (16 sc).

Row 12: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 13: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 13 sts, inc (16 sc).

Row 14: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 15: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 13 sts, inc (16 sc).

Row 16: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 17: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 13 sts, inc (16 sc).

Row 18: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 19: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 12 sts, dec (14 sc).

Row 20: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 21: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 12 sts (13 sc).

Row 22: Ch 1, turn, inc in first st, sc in next 10 sts, dec (13 sc).

Row 23: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 10 sts, inc (13 sc).

Row 24: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 25: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 10 sts, inc (13 sc).

Row 26: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 27: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 10 sts, inc (13 sc).

Row 28: Ch 1, turn, sc in 11 sts, dec (12 sc).

Row 29: Ch 1, turn, inc in first st, sc in next 10 sts, inc in next st (14 sc).

Row 30: Ch 1, turn, sc in 12 sts, dec (13 sc).

Row 31: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 9 sts, dec (11 sc).

Row 32: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.

Row 33: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 7 sts, dec (9 sc).

Row 34: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 5 sts, dec (7 sc).

Row 35: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc in next 3 sts, dec (5 sc). Fasten off yarn.

If using a sewing machine, it’s easier to sew webbing to back of bunny before assembling the bag. Cut polyester webbing 52-60” long.

Sew with 5” of webbing extending off the top of the bunny.

Turn over and place other bunny piece on top. Pin together and mark Rows 4 & 30. The distance between markers should be approximately 7” to fit zipper.

Attach MC at Row 30, sc along edges of rows of top bunny piece to Row 5. At Row 4, sc through both layers from Row 4 to Row 1 with 2 sc in Row 1. Continue around bottom using unused lps of foundation ch with 2 sc in last lp. Continue up the front and head of bunny with 2 sc in any corner to help maintain the shape. Continue through both layers around head until you reach marker at Row 30. Join with sl st in first sc of rnd. On back bunny piece, sc through edges of Rows 5-29. Join with sl st at Row 4. Fasten off yarn.

EARS: (Make 2)

Row 1: With CC yarn, ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 6 chs. Fasten off CC.

Repeat Row 1 with MC yarn. Do not fasten off.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, place CC ear on top of MC ear and work through both layers. Sc in 6 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 6 sts, sl st in same sp as last sc. Fasten off leaving 9” length for sewing. Sew ears to top of head.

Sew ½” pompom at end of Row 30. Insert safety eye at Row 30, 6 sts from nose. Sew zipper to 7” slot in back of bunny. Sew white pompom below zipper.

Thread female clip on 5” piece of webbing above bunny and sew the end in place.

Insert slide clip on other end of webbing. Insert male clip on end and thread end of webbing back through slide clip.

If you’re ever traveling through Texas and stop at a Buccee’s gas station, you’ll see just how popular these little guys are! Today we have a beaver amigurumi and a beaver potholder, both adorable and both easy to crochet.

Beaver Potholder Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Cotton worsted weight yarn:
85 yards brown
12 yards tan
20 yards white
5 yards black
Size J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Potholder measures approximately 8” wide x 6” tall (including ears).

Gauge = 7 sc = 2”, 8 rows = 2”Directions:

HEAD:
Row 1: With double strand of brown, ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch (15 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 13 sts, 2 sc in last st (17 sc).
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 15 sts, 2 sc in last st (19 sc).
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 17 sts, 2 sc in last st (21 sc).
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 19 sts, 2 sc in last st (23 sc).
Rows 6-7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Row 8: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in next 19 sts, dec over last 2 sts (21 sc).
Row 9: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in next 17 sts, dec over last 2 sts (19 sc).
Row 10: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 17 sts, 2 sc in last st (21 sc).
Rows 11-13: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Rows 14-17: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in each remaining st (17 sc at end of Row 17).
Row 18: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in next 13 sts, dec over last 2 sts (15 sc).
Row 19: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in next 11 sts, dec over last 2 sts (13 sc). Do not fasten off brown yarn.

EARS:
Attach double strand of tan yarn at the edge of Row 16. Ch 1, sc in same spot, sc in ends of Rows 17 and 18. Repeat on opposite side of beaver’s head.

EDGING:
Return to Row 19 and pick up loop of brown yarn you left hanging.
Row 20: Ch 1, turn, dec over first 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, ch 6 and sl st in 5th ch (hanging loop made), sc in next 4 sts, dec over next 2 sts (11 sc across top of head with hanging loop in the
middle). Turn to work down the side, sc in next 3 row ends. *Sc in 3 row ends of side of ear, 2 sc in each of the 2 sts of ear Row 3, sc in 3 row ends of other side of the year.* Continue in sc
down the side of the head. Sc in unused lps of foundation ch. Working up the other side of the head, sc in row ends until you reach the other ear, then repeat * to * around ear. Sc in row
ends of last 3 rows to the top, sl st in the first sc to join. Fasten off brown.

TEETH: (Make 2)
With double strand of white yarn, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 ch. Working in unused lps of foundation ch, sc in all 3 lps (6 sc).
Fasten off white leaving 6” length for sewing.
Center teeth at bottom of potholder and sew in place.

MUZZLE: (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With double strand of tan yarn, ch 2 (or magic circle), 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st (12 sc). Join with sl st. Fasten off leaving 9” length for sewing.
Sew muzzles just above teeth, centered in the middle of the face and touching each other in the center.

NOSE:
With a double strand of black yarn, ch 2 (or magic circle), 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st. Fasten off leaving 6” length for sewing.
Sew nose in gap between 2 muzzle pieces.

EYES: (Make 2)
With double strand of white yarn, ch 4, 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc next ch, 4 hdc in last ch.
Working on opposite side of starting ch, hdc in next lp, 2 hdc in last lp. Join with sl st. Fasten off leaving 12” length for sewing.

PUPILS: (Make 2)
With double strand of black yarn, ch 2 (or magic circle), 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st.
Fasten off leaving 6” length for sewing. Sew pupils to the bottom half of white eyes.
Sew eyes to face 2 rows from the top of the head.

The animal for June 18 will be Beaver.

Bunny Bath Pouf Crochet Pattern

This pattern works up quickly in worsted yarn. Make a few this evening for your littles’ Easter baskets, add some egg-shaped bath bombs, and bath time will be extra special for them.

Materials:

Cotton worsted yarn:

1 oz. MC for small, 2 oz. for large

Few yards CC

Size H crochet hook

Yarn needle

Pompom

Sewing needle and thread

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in 1st hdc.

Rnd 2: 3 hdc in each st (30 hdc).

Rnds 3-4: Repeat Rnd 2 (270 hdc). Stop here for small puff.

Rnd 5: For large puff, repeat Rnd 2 again (810 hdc).

Fold last Rnd in half and sl st through both sides. Ch 15, sl st in same space. Fasten off.

EARS:

Rnd 1: In 2nd st to the right of hangar loop, attach CC yarn, ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 ch. Sl st in same st as joining. Fasten off CC. Attach MC yarn in st next to base of ear, sc in 4 unused loops of beg ch, sc in tip of ear, sc in 4 sts of Rnd 1, sl st in Rnd 4 [5] of puff. Fasten off MC.
